Vendor of the Month: White Loft

If you're like me, you have really great intentions when it comes to documenting your kiddos as they grow. You plan to take monthly photos. You get all the fixins for a gorgeous shadow box. You buy a custom baby book ready to detail each special moment from day 1. Annndddd then real life happens. It's HARD to preserve all those special moments in a way that is not only meaningful, but that's beautiful. Good news-- White Loft's got your back.

We're talking about a handcrafted, heirloom-quality (in either canvas or wood) way to chart your little one's growth. The moment I stumbled upon them, I knew y'all would love them just as much as I do. They're versatile and customizable and ah-mazing, Lauren White is a mother of two and is the brains, hands and heart behind this brand. Based in Austin, each piece is designed to be proudly displayed in a home, or given as a sentimental gift. (Yep, she's local-- helloooo free pick-up!).

Lauren White, White Loft

Can you tell our mamas a little about your company?

White Loft is an online shop featuring handcrafted, heirloom-quality growth charts. Launched in 2013, these wall-mounted rulers provide a tangible way to watch little ones grow on a classic and portable piece of decor.

We're all about passion. What is your "why"?

As my first child (then 18m old) was growing so quickly, I wanted a way to preserve that. I tried making my own growth chart, and with success, loved how it came out and love that I will have those height marks forever. With that, a friend encouraged me to open an Etsy shop, and now 4.5 years later - I am still so excited to offer a product that allows families to capture those memories, and take them wherever they may move.

Outside of White Loft, what are you passionate about?

Spending time with my kids (6 and 3 years old), my husband and our crazy dog, Cal. We love to explore Austin and work on home projects!

What motivates you?

Two things:

1) having a product that can be such a special part of people’s families. They spark such a great conversation about nostalgia (how grandma’s height was marked), while becoming a tangible record of the current generation. I just LOVE that!

2) Showing my children a strong work ethic and how hustle, and sweat equity can really pay off.

If you could give our members one piece of advice, what would it be?

To give yourself a break — the mental kind (and the physical one, too.)!! Just letting some things go, and know you are doing a great job - even if you feel like you are brushing your teeth and eating Oreos at the same time. There may be days we feel like it’s nothing will ever change — but it will. I keep a sign by my desk that says, “You Can” and it is serves as a daily reminder to continue moving head.

... We LOVE that! Great advice, Lauren!! For the month of September, Lauren is offering our members 15% off with the coupon code: FIT15. She's also offering an awesome giveaway, so stay tuned for that (crossing my fingers and toes on this one!).
