Wow, I am so stoked to be Mom of the Month! What a surprise!
My name is Stacy Ryan and I moved here to the Austin area in April of this past year. So far, my family and myself LOVE it here! I am a Southern California native and made the move out here in order to purchase a home (that we can actually afford!) and take the opportunity to be a stay at home mom to my one year old daughter Ashlynn.
A little bit about myself... I started working in the fashion/retail industry at 16 and was immediately drawn to the visual merchandising aspect of the business. This led me to attend California State University of Long Beach and earned my BA in Fashion Merchandising in 2008. My husband, Denis and I met just a couple months after graduating. I have worked for many large retailers and manufacturers, but my last job was as the Key Accounts Marketing Manager at Hurley… a surf company… for those of you unfamiliar with the brand. I absolutely loved my job and was challenged everyday! However, once Ashlynn was born, we had some tough decisions to make. The cost of living in Orange County is ridiculous, to say the least, and we knew that we wouldn’t be able to provide the life we wanted for Ashlynn. After lots of discussions, research and a trip to Austin to check out neighborhoods, we finally pulled the trigger to sell our condo and make the move!
My first experience with Fit4Mom was with the Huntington Beach franchise. I started attending classes a couple times a week during my maternity leave, but was unable to continue once I went back to work. I knew that Fit4Mom was a great way to meet other moms and kids, have a support system and get exercise in all at once! So as soon as we were settled here in Leander, I started my first classes at Wilco Park. I am so happy to have met such a great group of mamas that have welcomed Ashlynn and I into their village with open arms!
